Established in 1804, the congregation of First Presbyterian Church of Augusta, GA meets in a building designed by the famous architect Robert Mills. Only one of eleven churches that can be attributed to the architect, the building is Neoclassical in design and was erected between the years 1807 - 1812. Mills was himself a Presbyterian, serving as an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church at Columbia, SC.
